On 12 May 2016, JMiles Associate, Leah Njoroge-Kibe was a speaker and panelist at a Commonwealth Secretariat Workshop dubbed “Building Capacity on Improving Competitiveness around Emerging ‘New Issues’ in Trade Agreements” held at the Best Western Hotel. Leah presented a paper on Investor-State Dispute Settlement in Mega-regional Trade Agreements. The workshop, attended by participants from Kenya, Mauritius, India, Lesotho, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Sierra Leone, Australia, Cameroon and the United Kingdom, aimed to deepen linkages between policymakers and research institutions across the African Commonwealth to build capacity on emerging issues in trade. The event was organized by the Commonwealth Secretariat, Centre for WTO Studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Trade and GBS Africa.
