Leah Njoroge-Kibe of JMiles & Co. was a speaker at a session dubbed “Challenges Faced by African States in Mining and Petroleum Contract Negotiations with Special Emphasis on Stabilisation Clauses” organized by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa-Capacity Development Division. The session was held in Douala from 26-27 October 2016. Leah spoke on settlement of disputes arising from stabilization clauses and made commentary on investor-state dispute settlement. The aim of the policy dialogue is to build capacity among African negotiators on key issues such as stabilization clauses by bringing together African experts and negotiators so as to allow them to exchange expertise and experience for the benefit of the continent.
